Subspecies of Green Turtle

Lives in pelagic zones. Feeds mainly on crustaceans and mollusks. Reaches 35-50 kg.

Conservation status: Endangered

 
  Here you can see 4 lateral scutes that do not overlap.
  Note how the green turtle has 1 pair of pre-frontal scales.    
 
Because black turtles are closely related to green turtles they have the same scute patterns both on the pre-frontal and frontal scutes of the head, as well as the lateral scutes of the shell.
